Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They help websites work correctly, remember preferences and measure how they are used. Similar technologies such as local storage entries work in much the same way; in this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".

We keep the use of cookies on this website to a minimum:

• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics to measure, in aggregate, how visitors use the website — which pages are visited and how visitors move through the site. The relevant cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) store a random identifier and typically remain on your device for up to 24 months. This data is used only for statistics and is not linked to your donation or your name. Google Analytics is not loaded and analytics cookies are not set unless you accept the Analytics category.
• Essential consent storage. Our self-hosted Silktide consent manager stores your choices in your browser's local storage under stcm.consent.essential, stcm.consent.analytics and stcm.hasConsented. These entries remember your choices across visits until you change them or clear browser storage. This consent manager does not send your choices to an external Silktide service.
• Optional campaign-referral storage. With Analytics consent, we save campaign-referral parameters in session storage under lfa_utm_first_touch, for the current browser session. These help us attribute donations to referrals. If you reject analytics, this storage is not used; your selected campaign and donation flow still work.

When you start a donation, you are transferred to Stripe's checkout, which is operated by our payment provider Stripe. On those checkout pages, Stripe may set its own cookies, for example to process the payment securely and to prevent fraud. Stripe's own cookie notice applies there; you can find it at stripe.com/legal/cookies-policy.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or social media tracking on this website. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to follow you across other websites.

• Our Silktide banner offers Accept all, Reject optional and Customize. Analytics is off by default worldwide; essential storage remains active.
• Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or the cookie icon, to reopen your preferences and withdraw consent. Withdrawal removes this site's Google Analytics cookies and optional referral storage. If Analytics was already loaded, the page reloads to stop it completely.
• You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; every major browser lets you refuse cookies or delete existing ones.
• Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to browse the website or make a donation.
• You can specifically opt out of Google Analytics via Google's opt-out page.

If the cookies we use change — for example because we add or remove a tool — we will update this policy. The version published on this page, with its effective date, is the version that applies.
